Earlier this week, Catalan fans finally received some good news. Their club finally moved up a gear in the transfer window and completed the arrival of Dani Olmo. After a great Euro 2024 with La Roja, the player who left for Croatia as a teenager is returning to La Masia. A nice reinforcement for Hansi Flick, who until now had to make do with the arrival of Pau Victor alone.
As we know, Barça has not given up on the idea of bringing in Nico Williams and is still trying to convince the Basque winger. Especially since after the contract signed with Aramark, the Barcelona players have more room to maneuver with regard to the financial fair play of La Liga, and therefore more facilities to recruit than until now. The club’s management also intends to strengthen itself at the back and wants to bring back João Cancelo.
An inexpensive option
And AS reveals that the Barcelonans have a new lead for their defense. The club has thus taken information on Sergio Reguilón, the 27-year-old left-back from Tottenham, trained at Real Madrid. Recruited for 30 million euros in the summer of 2021, he has never managed to establish himself in London and has chained loans. Barça sees him as an interesting low-cost option and cheaper than Cancelo, in order to strengthen the left side of the defense where there is only one professional full-back: Alejandro Baldé.
Tottenham’s management should not put up many obstacles to the departure of the player trained at La Fabrica from Real Madrid, since his contract is up in a year and the English have no intention of keeping him.
