Just recruited by Paris Saint-Germain, Portuguese midfielder João Neves (19 years old) will be one of the new weapons at Luis Enrique’s disposal for next season. The Portuguese international took the opportunity to talk about his departure from Benfica in an interview for the Portuguese club. And he took the opportunity to say that it brought a few tears to his eyes: “The president and I cried a little. Neither I nor my family ever called anyone to force me to leave, nor for any other type of problem related to João Neves’ desire to leave. Even Benfica didn’t want me to leave.»

I spoke to the president several times, we always had the same opinion. It was not easy for the president. In the meetings I had with him, he was very emotional, because it was about me. When we agreed on when I would leave, he kind of showed a little tear, and I too, we both cried a little. But as I said, it was good for the club. There is nothing above the club, and I am not above the club either” he continued.
