Double news this Tuesday for the Girondins de Bordeaux. The Aquitaine club received the green light from the Bordeaux Court to place itself in receivership, and thus avoid the catastrophe of compulsory liquidation.
This procedure therefore allows the Girondins to freeze their debt, estimated at 90 million euros by Sud-Ouest, to give it time to find solutions with its creditors. But the DNCG still needs to validate the club’s accounts and the budget that will be presented to it on Thursday, to know whether the Bordeaux team will return to National or National 2.
In the meantime, it has been confirmed that Bordeaux will be replaced in Ligue 2 this season by Troyes, who had been relegated sportingly, and who have officially been drafted. In its press release, Estac mentioned “a sincere thought for the Girondins de Bordeaux, its employees and supporters” to whom the Aube club wishes “the best for the future.”
