Not content with traveling around Paris to follow different events, Antoine Griezmann, completely hooked on the Olympic Games, himself announced the list of French medal winners on his X account!

“Medal alert!” with a French flag emoji. Without participating in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games (he would have dreamed of playing in the football team led by Thierry Henry), Antoine Griezmann is (also) one of the attractions at the start of the Olympiad. The vice-captain of the Blues, a big sports fan, is completely crazy about the Paris Olympics and publishes a message on X for each French medal won! On Monday, he congratulated the canoeist Nicolas Gestin (gold!), the French equestrian and archery teams (both silver) or the judoka Joan-Benjamin Gaba (also silver).

“Grizi” has therefore decided to tweet on each French podium, he who is finishing his summer vacation by attending Olympic events in all four corners of the capital. He started off with a bang on Saturday by attending the coronation of Antoine Dupont’s French rugby 7s team, in a delirious Stade de France, before achieving a hat-trick on Sunday by going to see the gymnastics, fencing and swimming! On Monday, he started his day in Versailles for the horse riding (and therefore a new French medal), before following the other French performances of the day in front of his TV.

Griezmann like a community manager

His wife Erika Choperena accompanies the Atlético striker and, in an Instagram story, showed her husband preparing a tweet “French Medal Alert” to congratulate Victor Koretzky. This cyclist finished 2nd in the mountain bike event on Monday afternoon, at the end of an epic final lap against the British Tom Pidcock, in Elancourt (Yvelines).

In his tracking of the French medallists, Antoine Griezmann will have a hard time keeping up, especially if the host country keeps up its current pace. France already has 16 medals, with five gold, eight silver and three bronze, thanks in particular to the all-French women’s sabre final won by Manon Apithy-Brunet in front of Sara Balzer on Monday evening at the Grand Palais. Above all, three weeks after the elimination of the Blues at the Euro in Germany, the 33-year-old left-hander is expected in a few days at the Colchoneros training center to begin his pre-season preparation…
