PSG: what’s wrong for Victor Osimhen

Nothing is ever simple with Napoli when negotiations open for a transfer. Victor Osimhen has the exit voucher, from his president, who considered he had done what was necessary by extending his player’s contract last December and inserting a release clause of €130 million. It will be this price and nothing else, he assured his interlocutors then, imagining the departure of his Nigerian striker.

But for now, we are far from this scenario. Already because the suitors are not rushing to the gate. No Premier League club ready to sign a big check, but a Saudi club mainly, and PSG recently. According to our information, Luis Campos and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi have validated Osimhen’s profile to strengthen the attack, diminished by the departure of Kylian Mbappé. Problem, there are already two players supposed to occupy the axis of the attack in the squad, Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani. And the two men have not planned to move this summer, aware that they have a card to play.

Naples interested in Kang-In Lee

The other major problem is therefore the discussions with Naples, since PSG has no intention of paying Osimhen’s release clause. According to our information, the capital club does not want to offer more than €80 million. Unusually, Naples is ready to go below the clause, but not less than €110 million, or even €105 million. The prospect of a departure does not scare the new coach Antonio Conte, who sees Romelu Lukaku as an ideal successor.

Napoli even offered PSG a deal, €90 million + Kang-In Lee, the South Korean attacking midfielder. He is the player that interests Conte the most among the possible starters in the Parisian squad. But the management refused this option. So there are several blockages for the moment, and the Osimhen saga is far from having delivered its verdict.
