Kylian Mbappé was earning 72 million euros gross per season at PSG. In his new club, the French striker is paid much less.

By joining Real Madrid, after reaching the end of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappé has fulfilled a childhood dream. In the capital of Spain, the Bondy native will receive a lower salary than in that of France.

According to The Sunhis emoluments are estimated at 31 million euros per year. This makes him the highest paid Merengue player in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, ahead of David Alaba (22.5 million) and Vinicius Jr (20.8). On the other hand, the captain of the Blues is not the highest paid player in the Spanish championship.

Mbappé, a relative drop in salary

Indeed, two FC Barcelona players are better paid than the former number 7 of PSG. Dutch midfielder Frenkie De Jong tops the salaries in La Liga with annual income of around 37.5 million euros. With 33.4 million, his teammate, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, follows him.

Even though his salary is much lower than in Paris, Kylian Mbappé largely compensates for this reduction thanks to the large signing bonus he received when he arrived as a free agent in the “White House”. This could be between 100 and 125 million euros. In addition, Ethan’s big brother will keep 80% of his image rights, which are generally shared equally with the employing club.
