Winner on Wednesday evening of Fiorentina in the final of the Europa Conference League (1-0, ap), Olympiakos offered itself the very first European title in its history.

What an evening for Olympiakos! Opposed to Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final, the Greek club was able to pull away in the second period of extra time to win at the end against the Florentine team (1-0, ap). The deliverance arrived in the 115th minute of play with the one and only goal of the match scored by the inevitable Ayoub El Kaabi, once again hero of his team after his gala performance in the semi-final against Aston Villa.

However, things could have gone badly very early in the game for Olympiakos, but Fiorentina’s goal scored by Cristiano Biraghi in the ninth minute of play was ultimately logically refused for offside. Overall, the match was rather dominated by the Viola, especially in terms of attempts, because in terms of overall possession, the balance was respected. It is therefore logical that the match continued during an extra time which again seemed destined to be empty of any goal.

El Kaabi, this hero

Until that devil Ayoub El Kaabi came out of his box one final time in this competition to score five minutes from time. Club blow to the heads of the Florentines who will not have had time to recover. For Fiorentina, the fate is terrible since last year already, they lost in the final against West Ham (2-1).

Obviously there is a contrast between the sadness of the Italian supporters and the crazy joy of their Greek counterparts. Never in its history has Olympiakos been on a European roof. They will now be able to enjoy it for a good while.
