Predecessor of Pierre Sage on the bench of Olympique Lyonnais, Fabio Grosso was dismissed during the season. He will now join Sassuolo.

Former Olympique Lyonnais player, Fabio Grosso was called to the rescue at the start of the season to compensate for the layoff of Laurent Blanc. Unfortunately for him and the Rhone club, the mayonnaise did not take at all and the Italian was also sent back to his studies by the Lyon management after two and a half months and only seven matches spent on the bench. Six months later, he found a new challenge with Sassuolo.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the nineteenth in Serie A relegated to the lower level at the end of the season, has reached an agreement with Fabio Grosso. According to the Italian media, the mission is clear for the tactician: to bring Sassuolo back next year. And the major maneuvers have also begun at different levels to begin this mission, since following the departure of Giovanni Rossi, a new sports director was appointed in the person of Francesco Palmieri.

If he completely missed out during his Lyon experience, Fabio Grosso remains popular in Italy, and in particular in Serie B which he won during the 2022-2023 season with Frosinone (a club which will go down after being overtaken from a distance by Empoli in the last seconds of the last day of Serie A). He will therefore have to get down to business as soon as the formalization of his new mission is announced.
