Hansi Flick is tipped to become the next coach of FC Barcelona, succeeding Xavi Hernandez, whose departure will be formalized after this Sunday’s match against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium. The 59-year-old technician will reunite with Ilkay Gundogan, whom he managed in Germany, and Robert Lewandowski, at Bayern Munich.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Gundogan had been approached by FC Barcelona about Flick, but MD relayed information from the German midfielder that this was not the case.

The Catalan outlet states that Gundogan did not convey any opinions about Flick to anyone at Barcelona, and that if anyone had asked him to do so, he would not have done so out of respect for Xavi.
Gundogan was one of the first FC Barcelona players to publicly pay tribute to Xavi after his departure was announced on Friday. It’s clear he has a lot of respect for his soon-to-be former coach, although he’ll certainly be excited at the prospect of working with a familiar face in Flick.
