Paris Saint-Germain enters a little further into the history of French football. This Saturday evening, the Ile-de-France club won the final of the Coupe de France against Olympique Lyonnais with a score of 2 goals to 1.

A success which allowed the club to win its 3rd title of the season but above all the 15th Coupe de France in its history.

After the festivities, Parisian President Nasser Al-Khelaifi spoke at the microphone of PSG TV and did not hesitate to send strong words to his group and to Luis Enrique who is the main architect of the success of the Rouge et Bleu this year.

“Winning our 15th CDF is a real source of pride for our club and our supporters. The club’s 51st title also allows us to end the season in style with this magnificent treble, the 5th in our history. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those involved in this collective success, from the players to coach Luis Enrique and Luis Campos, including all those within the club who contributed to this overall performance,” he blurted.

Before continuing: “PSG’s greatest victory is undoubtedly to have succeeded in instilling a new collective and united spirit on which the club will rely in the months and years to come. »

Luis Enrique satisfied with his players’ final

The capital club is therefore concluding its 2023/2024 financial year in a good way. Luis Enrique’s men had a satisfactory season overall with 3 titles, a Champions League semi-final and a fairly attractive style of play which, however, still has room for improvement. After the final, the Spanish coach did not hide his satisfaction.

“My team has been ambitious all season. She never calculates, she is always offensive, she had energy, she pressed. I am not choosing a half-time this season. We were protagonists of the final,” did he declare.
