The FFF paid tribute to a young man who died Thursday after being struck by lightning during training.
His name was Jordan Denneulin. During training on Thursday at the Courrières club stadium in Pas-de-Calais, this 31-year-old father was struck by lightning during a violent storm, while he was to return to the locker rooms. He died instantly. Other players were also struck by lightning and one of them is still in hospital in critical condition, with his life threatening.
Touched by this terrible tragedy, the French Football Federation, through its president Philippe Diallo, wanted to pay tribute to Jordan. “Our football has been bereaved by a terrible tragedy. This weekend, a minute of silence will be observed on the Hauts de France football fields to honor the memory of Jordan, who leaves behind a partner and a 13-year-old son as well as a father and three brothers.
