While the French camp still hopes to convince Real Madrid to leave him available to the Blues for the Games, Kylian Mbappé has reiterated his desire to compete in the Olympics.
The pressure put by Emmanuel Macron had no effect. On the occasion of the lunch organized at the Elysée to mark the 120th anniversary of Fifa, the Head of State worked to convince Florentino Perez, the president of the Merengue club, to let go of Kylian Mbappé for the Games Paris 2024 Olympics. Efforts remained in vain.
According to the Spanish press, if L’Equipe wrote this Wednesday that Florentino Perez had “opened the door”, the Spanish champions would have no intention of letting their (future) star striker leave for the Olympic Games. For the Madrid giant, the risk of injury would indeed be too great after such a busy summer. However, the Bondynois does not despair of seeing the Merengue club change its mind.
Kylian Mbappé repeated his intention
The Bondynois has in any case reiterated his desire to participate in the Olympics this summer. “I think we have to wait. I no longer need to say my intention, everyone knows it. I think we have to let things happen. Afterwards, as I said, I am at an age where whatever the decision, I will be happy. But the Olympic Games are special, especially in Paris,” he confided on the sidelines of an event linked to his association IBKM
“When I know, I’ll talk about it. But I don’t know, it doesn’t just depend on me. Today, what I want is to finish the season well. When someone has a message to send me I will be there to receive it,” he continued in comments relayed by L’Equipe, also seeming to want to send a message to his future employer.
