In recent weeks, rumors have suggested that Real Madrid are making Florian Wirtz their main target for the summer 2025 transfer window.
The Madrilenians’ hopes of recruiting him have just been reinforced regarding the track leading to the virtuoso from Leverkusen, Florian Wirtz.
According to the Iberian media Relevo, it has been decided that Wirtz will under no circumstances leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer. He has been linked with many European clubs, notably in the Premier League, but will stay with the new Bundesliga champions for at least 12 months more. A departure in 2025 would thus be envisaged.
Kroos’ successor?
Following the announcement of Toni Kroos’ retirement at the end of the season, Wirtz is seen as a possible long-term replacement for his compatriot. Real Madrid had no plans to make a move this summer, and that hasn’t changed with Kroos’ decision, but discussions will take place between now and next summer over a possible transfer.
Wirtz would be a very big signing for Real Madrid, and he would further improve their galactic team. A file to follow in 2025.
