After long months of hardship, Corentin Tolisso comes back to life at Olympique Lyonnais. The French midfielder returned to his repeated injuries.

Like Olympique Lyonnais, author of a fantastic second half of the season, Corentin Tolisso has regained his splendor in recent months. Long hampered by injuries, the French world champion can once again play one match after another. Enough to put a smile back on his face after the long struggle experienced in recent seasons.

“I had a cruciate ligament rupture in 2018 and from that moment on, in my head it was complicated because I was afraid of gaining a lot of weight given that I wasn’t going to play for six months, he told beIN Sports. I think that mentally I put a food restriction on myself which was much too drastic. For me, I was eating and drinking well. But ultimately maybe I wasn’t eating enough. And especially during my last year at Bayern Munich, I had a lot of stress not knowing what I was going to do the following year. I think I handled it the wrong way in my head. »

“When I returned to Lyon, I wasn’t afraid to talk about it, I saw a person to help me, to try to get better. She was a sophrologist, she helped me a lot. There was that, plus the physiotherapists, plus the nutritionist who is with us every day, and with whom I had to make quite a few appointments, continued the French midfielder. She told me that I had to stop worrying, that I had to give my body enough energy to be able to put in the effort and the matches. It’s all these little things that I put in place last year that are paying off today and that mean that I have fewer injuries. »
