Liverpool have officially confirmed the appointment of Arne Slot as the club’s new manager following the departure of Jurgen Klopp.
Slot’s transfer from Dutch club Feyenoord to Liverpool has finally been made official. The Reds announced the appointment of the tactician as the club’s new manager following Klopp’s departure at the end of the season. Slot will take up his position on June 1, subject to obtaining a work permit, and has reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Reds.
Slot arrives at Anfield after three seasons in the Eredivisie with Feynoord, where he won the league title and the KNVB Cup. The 45-year-old also led the team to the Europa League final in his first campaign in charge. Slot will have his work cut out to replace Klopp, who said an emotional farewell last weekend.
A heavy task awaits Slot
Klopp leaves Liverpool with a win rate of 60.9% in all competitions (299/491), the highest of any manager who has managed more than 50 matches for the Reds.
Slot will begin work with his new club next month, before heading to the United States in July for a pre-season tour and matches against Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
