At the opening of the 30th day of the Premier League, Newcastle welcomed West Ham and we should not arrive late at St James'Park. From the first moments of this meeting, the Magpies obtained a penalty which Alexander Isak transformed without trembling (1-0, 6th). In front and generally dominant, Eddie Howe's men were however to be caught a few moments later. Decisive, Michail Antonio put the two teams back to back (1-1, 21st) and just before the break Mohammed Kudus gave the Hammers the advantage (1-2, 45+10th).

Returning from the locker room, West Ham quickly widened the gap through the inevitable Jarrod Bowen (1-3, 48th). If the locals, stunned, tried to react and Alexander Isak once again shook the net from the penalty spot (2-3, 77th), this reduction in the score was not enough to make the Magpies happy. We finally had to wait until the last moments to see Harvey Barnes, who had just come into play, snatch the equalizer (3-3, 82nd) then deliver his own in added time (4-3, 90th). A crazy scenario which allows Newcastle, reduced to ten at the end of the match and who will have lost 4 players to injury, to reach 8th place. For its part, West Ham remains 7th and sees the top 5 slipping away…
