Faced with Atlético Madrid’s demands for the sale of Portuguese international Joao Félix, Barça made a strong choice.

Arriving at Atlético Madrid in July 2019 from Benfica for a record fee of 127 million euros, Joao Félix never managed to establish himself as an indisputable starter in Diego Simeone’s eleven.

After a disappointing loan to Chelsea last year, the former Portuguese nugget is currently on loan to FC Barcelona. The latter is satisfied with the performances of the 24-year-old striker and would like to keep him beyond the current season. However, the price asked by Atlético Madrid, between 70 and 80 million euros, is considered too high by the Blaugrana leaders.

A new loan for Joao Félix?

Faced with this situation, the reigning Spanish champion would consider extending the loan of Joao Félix for an additional season. A solution that could suit all parties.

The future of Joao Félix, linked to Atlético Madrid until June 2029, therefore remains uncertain. The Catalan club would like to keep it, but the Matelassiers do not seem willing to sell it off. A new loan could therefore be the best solution for next season.
