Even if they agree to discuss a transfer, the leaders of the Sky Blues do not rule out an extension for De Bruyne either. The latter has a lease which expires in 2025 at the Etihad Stadium.
Injured for a long time at the start of the season, De Bruyne has only played 11 City matches this season (including 5 as a starter). He therefore no longer appears to be essential and this is what may have led the club to consider a divorce after a nine-year romance.
