Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are “almost unstoppable” in a tight title fight.
As the title fight between Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal has started to boil, Guardiola has admitted that his side will have to work harder to retain the title as the Gunners and Reds don’t seem keen on dropping points.
Speaking to the media, Guardiola said: “The way they (our opponents) play, even Aston Villa but especially Arsenal and Liverpool. They score three, four, five goals a day. This means they are almost unstoppable.”
A boiling fight
Since the start of February, Arsenal have beaten West Ham by six goals, scored five against Burnley and scored three against Newcastle and Liverpool. For their part, Liverpool scored three goals against Burnley and four against Brentford and Luton Town. Currently, Klopp’s men are in the lead with 60 points, closely followed by City (59 points) and Arsenal (58 points), 12 days before the end of the championship.
Liverpool will have the opportunity to increase their lead as they are the first of the title contenders to play on the next day. The Reds face Nottingham Forest on Saturday March 2, while Manchester City take on Manchester United on Sunday. Arsenal will end the day with a Monday evening kick-off against Sheffield United.
