It was a mini scandal in the weeks following the Asian Nations Cup. Indeed, things got heated between the two stars of the South Korean selection, as the South Korean Football Federation admitted. Young players, including Kang-In Lee, who were rebuffed by Heung-Min Son, uttered insults and led to a fight. Everything went wrong on the eve of the semi-final against Jordan. The PSG player apologized in a long message: “I did something I should never have done in the dining room that day. When you think about it, it was just an action I should never have done. I’m deeply angry about this stuff. Respect and dedication to the team is the most important thing but I failed in my mission. I apologized to the other members of the representative team and to the teammates. I contacted each and every one of them.”said the former Mallorca player on Instagram.

As a reminder, everything would have started with a reflection from Son to Kang-In Lee, guilty of having left the table to go play ping-pong. Lee’s response, allegedly insulting, did not please. Insults were thrown around and Lee Kang-in even tried to punch his partner. Dodge by Son, who nevertheless dislocated a finger while trying to free himself from another player who was holding him back. A news item relayed by the press which disappointed Korean supporters: “Despite the excessive expectations and support, I apologize once again for disappointing football fans for being an exemplary image and character that I should have as a Korean national player. I know I was disappointed especially with all the love you gave me. From now on, I will be a Lee Kang-in who works harder and is dedicated to personal development as a football player and person.concluded Lee in his press release
