FC Barcelona have given Frenkie de Jong an ultimatum regarding his future, with Tottenham reportedly making a €60m offer for the midfielder.

Mundo Deportivo reports that FC Barcelona have given De Jong an ultimatum, asking him to either sign the contract he has been offered – it has been on the table since November – or present an offer. Following this report, Jijantes claims that Tottenham made a €60 million bid for the midfielder and offered him a four-year contract with the same salary he currently earns at Camp Nou. It remains to be seen whether De Jong would be willing to make the move, or whether Spurs would have to sell players to fund it, given the costs involved.

De Jong’s current contract expires in 2026 and Barca are aware that this summer could mark the last time they can receive a hefty fee for the 26-year-old, and they would prefer to go into the next transfer window knowing his intention to leave or stay.

The player is also of interest to Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, knowing that Barça has set the price of De Jong at 100 million euros.

De Jong remains a key part of the Barcelona team and has made 23 appearances in all competitions, with his only absences due to injuries or suspensions. He also earned 54 caps with the Netherlands. De Jong’s side face Celta Vigo at home this weekend. They will then face Napoli in the Champions League next week.
