Despite the double from its 16-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal, FC Barcelona did not manage to beat Granada, the penultimate in Liga, Sunday evening in Monjuic (3-3). The Blaugranas miss the opportunity to come back to Girona.
The day after Real Madrid’s victory against their runner-up Girona, FC Barcelona missed the opportunity to come back to within three points of their Catalan neighbor. The Blaugranas took only one point against Granada on Sunday evening, for the 24th day, at the end of a lively meeting at the Estadio Olimpico Lluis Companys, on the heights of Montjuic (3-3) .
Reception of the penultimate in the ranking was marked by the double of Lamine Yamal, who is still 16 years old! Xavi’s right winger opened the scoring at the start of the match on a cross from Joao Cancelo (14th). But the Andalusians subsequently turned everything around, thanks to Ricard Sanchez’s header before half-time (43rd) then Facundo Pellestri on the hour mark (63rd).
Exceptional Gündogan!
Robert Lewandowski, after missing several opportunities, equalized on an extraordinary delivery from Ilkay Gündogan (63rd), but, in the process, Marc-André ter Stegen, for his great return to competition in Catalan goals, conceded a third goal on a recovery from Ignasi Miquel (66th).
Finally, Yamal scored twice with a shot from outside the area (81st), for the 3-3, but Barça was unable to snatch the victory. The 3rd in Liga will try to do better in terms of points in Vigo next weekend, before challenging Napoli in the Champions League.
