Trained at Atletico Madrid, Koke (32) is one of the legends of the Spanish club. The midfielder signed his first professional contract in 2011 and enjoyed a flagship period for the Colchoneros in the 2010s with two Champions League finals, two La Liga and two Europa League wins and some 616 matches played. And as he reaches the end of his contract next June, the two camps cannot agree to continue the adventure.
Indeed, as pointed out Relevo, Atletico presented a renewal offer to the Spanish international (70 selections), with a two-year contract extension, accompanied by a reduction in his salary, going from 7 to 4 million euros. A proposal which does not convince Koke, who has already considered that it was his “last year so far”but that according to him, there “will have no problem retiring here”.
