Fifa calms things down on the blue card

The international body made it clear that the appearance of the blue card in football is far from imminent.

The blue card is not for now. While the Telegraph mentioned the upcoming introduction of this new sanction (10-minute expulsion in the event of a serious anti-playing error), Fifa reacted in a press release.

“FIFA would like to clarify that reports of the so-called ‘blue card’ at the elite level of football are incorrect and premature. Such testing, if implemented, should be limited to responsibly conducted testing at lower levels, a position that FIFA intends to reiterate when this agenda item is discussed at of the IFAB AGM on March 2 »indicates the international body.
