Barcelona are looking for a new coach and are reportedly targeting Jurgen Klopp.
Xavi Hernandez having made the decision to step down at the end of the season, thus ending his two and a half years at the helm of the team, FC Barcelona is now looking for a new coach.
Sporting director Deco has been tasked with leading the process, although president Joan Laporta is likely to be involved. This could pose problems, as the two men have differing opinions on who should be the club’s main target.
A break for Klopp
Laporta opts for Hansi Flick, although his dream is to renew Pep Guardiola or hire Jurgen Klopp. The latter would be much more likely, as he leaves Liverpool at the end of the season, and Diario AS note that Barcelona intend to approach the German to take over from next season.
However, Klopp’s entourage has already made it known that the German coach intends to take a break for at least one season, which would mean that FC Barcelona would not be able to sign him. Other candidates must therefore be considered, although there is no general consensus to date.
