Paris Saint-Germain and the city of Paris have been negotiating for several months for the purchase of the Parc des Princes, leading to tensions between the two camps. But the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, slams her fist and affirms that the compound located at Porte d’Auteuil is not for sale. And the Paris Council confirmed this position on Tuesday.

“The sale is not desirable, because it would be a decision with no possible reversal (…) This is why we must rule out the sale of the Park today. We do not wish to cede Parisian heritage”, declared Pierre Rabadan, the sports deputy for the city of Paris. Faced with such firmness on the part of the Town Hall, “the major risk is to see PSG leave the Park” and that the Town Hall is obliged “to assume all investment costs for an empty stadium”.
