Fifa unveiled the calendar for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada and it was Kim Kardashian who was responsible for revealing the location of Team USA’s first meeting (in Los Angeles). The final will be played in the suburbs of New York.
Kevin Hart, Drake and Kim Kardashian are the ambassadors for the 2026 World Cup (June 11-July 19) in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The actor was on set alongside Gianni Infantino during the publication of the calendar, the Canadian singer was interviewed by the president of Fifa and the influencer was responsible for announcing the location of the first meeting of Team USA .
The Estadio Azteca in Mexico City will host the opening match on June 11, 2026 with the Mexican selection on the field. Team Canada will play in Toronto (BMO Field) the next day and, as Kardashian announced, the United States will play its first game at SoFi Stadium, the state-of-the-art 70,240-seat home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.
The final in New York
The North American World Cup will conclude in New York. The organization of the 2026 World Cup has announced that the final of the competition will be played on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, in the suburbs of the Big Apple, the 82,500-seat home of the Giants and Jets. The semi-finals will be played in Dallas and Atlanta, the small final in Miami.
As a reminder, for this great first with 48 teams instead of 32, Fifa finally opted for 12 groups of four, with the first two and the eight best thirds for the round of 16.
