Ill, removed from the group for poor form and now injured, Anthony Martial is having a decidedly complicated season at Manchester United. Freshly operated on his groin, the French international with 30 caps will remain away from the field for two and a half to three months.
Catastrophic timing for the former Monegasque, who since his arrival in the north of England in 2015 has never confirmed the expectations placed on his talent. At the end of the contract in six months, the person concerned had recently started negotiations with the Mancunian management for a hypothetical extension… which is no longer relevant at present.
One month to convince
On the transfer side, Anthony Martial does not have more touches; and won’t have one between now and the offseason with such an injury. Once his convalescence is over, the winger dear to Didier Deschamps will only have a month to a month and a half to shine. This season, his record is limited to 19 matches in all competitions – including seven starts – for an output of two goals and two assists.
