Atlético de Madrid is close to acquiring one of the most coveted players on the Old Continent. According to the Belgian media HLN, the Colchoneros are well on their way to enlisting Arthur Vermeeren, a young midfielder of only 18 years old who is shining with Antwerp. An agreement has reportedly been reached between the La Liga club and Royal Antwerp for a transfer of the player in the coming days.
The Rojiblancos should conclude the transaction for around 27 million euros, which should do good to the finances of the Belgian team, which still hoped to recover a little more by selling it to a European big name. The player is expected to travel to Spain on Thursday for the traditional medical examination and signing of his contract.
