Neymar’s transfer to PSG in 2017 takes a legal turn.
According to an indiscretion from Médiapart and AFP, a search was carried out on Monday at the Ministry of Finance in connection with the transfer of Neymar to PSG in 2017 for which Bercy is suspected of having helped the Parisian club not not pay taxes on the transaction.
These operations were carried out by police officers from the Central Office for the Fight against Corruption and Tax Fraud (Oclciff) of the National Directorate of the Judicial Police in the premises of the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP), explains the ‘AFP.
Mediapart, for its part, argues that the tax authorities could have claimed between 67 and 224 million euros for the Neymar operation, since it was not a transfer fee but a payment to the player for him allow him to pay his clause himself. The current Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, then Minister of Public Accounts, and his former chief of staff Jérôme Fournel but also Hugues Renson, former Macronist vice-president of the National Assembly, would thus be incriminated according to this source.
