Zaire-Emery, the radical decision?

In the absence of Achraf Hakimi, Luis Enrique could once again line up Warren Zaire-Emery as a right back on Sunday evening in Lens.

In this particular month of January, Paris Saint-Germain is not the worst off. The capital’s club is not the one which will lose the most players, who have gone to compete in the African Cup of Nations or the Asian Cup. For PSG, we have to deal without Achraf Hakimi and Lee Kang-In, but it is already a big constraint for Luis Enrique.

It is particularly on the right that we must rethink everything for the Parisian coach. Hakimi is the indisputable holder, and his preferred understudy is Nordi Mukiele. The former Montpellier player could apply for a starting place at Lens on Sunday evening, but he does not benefit from great confidence in this position from his coach, and this explains in particular his desire to join Bayern Munich.

Result, Luis Enrique could instead opt for a midfielder. Carlos Soler had played right back against the amateurs of Revel in the Coupe de France, but Culture PSG instead imagines a scheme close to that which was aligned in Lille in December. It was Warren Zaire-Emery who occupied the Parisian right flank, but it was in a 3-5-2, with Lee Kang-In to occupy the other wing.

The Korean will be absent, and there is a big difference between Lille and Lens. The Dogues play exclusively with a four-defender pattern, 4-2-3-1 most often, while Racing has built its success on Franck Haise’s 3-4-3, with efficient pistons. How to win the battle of sides? It’s up to Luis Enrique to find the solution…
