After the end of his experience in Turkey, Spanish midfielder Juan Mata should join a second-rate European championship.
Former Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is tipped to join Sweden.
Mata to Sweden?
Mata is free of any commitments after leaving Vissel Kobe in Japan last month. Mata has strong ties to Scandinavia. His wife Evelina Kamph is from Höllviken.
Asked about the possibility of signing the veteran, Malm FF president Daniel Andersson told Fotbolkanalen: “ I live in Höllviken, I know the family he is related to quite well. Clearly we joked about it at some point. What needs to be said is that Juan Mata is Juan Mata. I wouldn’t say it’s unrealistic, but I would have a hard time believing he would sign with us.”
Mata would not be the first European star to perform in the Swedish league. Before him, the Slovakian Marek Hamsik had also had this experience.
