Saudi Arabia: Henderson doesn’t want it anymore

Jordan Henderson, the English midfielder from Al-Ettifaq, wants to leave the Saudi Arabian championship, several British media indicate.

The three former Liverpool midfielders meeting in Saudi Arabia are clearly not working. Manager Steven Gerrard, whose place is said to be under serious threat, has no reason to smile at the moment. His Al-Ettifaq team has not won a single match for more than two months in the Championship: October 28 on the Al Wehda field (2-3).

On the pitch, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson see their status as successful former Liverpool players weakened. The latter has also decided to return to England, assure British media. If he succeeds, the 33-year-old would run into a small problem, believes The Daily Mail.

His salary, estimated at 813,000 euros per week, is only tax-exempt if Jordan Henderson honors the first two years of his contract. A departure this winter would cost him some 8 million euros.
