Juan Mata, 2010 world champion, finished his experience in Japan, released by Vissel Kobe.

Juan Mata and Vissel Kobe, it’s over. The four-month contract completed, the 35-year-old midfielder is officially free, the club recently crowned champion of Japan (J-League) said on Saturday.

Winner of the 2010 World Cup with Spain, and the 2012 Champions League in the Chelsea jersey, the left-hander spent most of his career at Manchester United, between January 2014 and September 2022.

After nine months with the Turks of Galatasaray, and a new championship title, Juan Mata chose Vissel Kobe. The current transfer window could offer him the opportunity for a new (and last?) challenge.
