Long imagined as an alternative to the Parc des Princes, the idea of moving to the Stade de France was abandoned by PSG yesterday. In The Parisian, the Paris town hall announced that it wanted to negotiate again with the club’s leaders on the conditions for expanding the Parc des Princes. For Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy mayor of Paris, this is a “Good news because it means that we will be able to seriously work on the possibility of PSG remaining at the Parc des Princes. We have several options to offer PSG”.
The Paris town hall is even putting forward a date for the end of the work and hopes to see the new Parc des Princes during the 2027-2028 season. Discussions should resume shortly between the two parties after numerous pressure attacks through the media in recent months. As a reminder, PSG wishes to buy the enclosure to expand it to 60,000 places, which forces the town hall to modify the local urban plan. The municipality is not against but rejected the €38 million proposal from the Qatari owners, Anne Hidalgo considering it “ridiculous”.
