Manchester City goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland has finally returned to training after recovering from a foot injury.
Haaland has not played for City since the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in December. The striker suffered a foot injury which kept him out of the Club World Cup, but he is close to returning. City showed how the striker was back in training ahead of the FA Cup third round match against Huddersfield Town in a series of images posted to social media.
City will be delighted to have their top scorer back, even if he did well in his absence. City won the Club World Cup, beat Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League and won the Premier League against Luton, Everton and Sheffield United without their striker. It remains to be seen whether Haaland will make his return against Huddersfield or whether he will be kept in reserve. City next face Newcastle in the Premier League and can close the gap on leaders Liverpool to two points with a victory.
As a reminder, Haaland has scored the most goals of any player in the five major European championships, in all competitions, in 2023, with 44 goals for Pep Guardiola’s team.
