This is an eventful start to the year for Nasser al-Khelaïfi. According to new revelations from Mediapart, the president of PSG would have remained locked in his plane in order to escape a police check and thus avoid a search of his home and the seizure of his telephones, as part of the investigation opened for the supposed abusive detention of a lobbyist in Qatar. The online newspaper adds that senior French leaders allegedly put pressure on the French police, while calling ministers Catherine Colonna and Gérald Darmanin.

As a reminder, the 50-year-old Qatari leader has been the subject of an investigation since February 2023. Three investigating judges from the Paris court have been appointed to investigate the accusations of kidnapping, sequestration and torture of a French lobbyist -Algerian, who allegedly stole recordings related to NAK’s private life, with the aim of blackmailing him for “several tens of millions of euros”.
