OM in mourning after the death of one of its former captains

Olympique de Marseille has just learned sad news. As reported by La Provence, the former French international footballer, François Bracci, died this Thursday at the age of 72.

Former captain of the Marseille club, François Bracci was crowned French Champion in 1972 but also winner of the Coupe de France in 1976 with the Marseille club.

Defender with no less than 342 matches with OM from 1971 to 1979 then from 1983 to 1985 (3rd most captured player in the history of the club), François Bracci also wore the colors of the Girondins de Bordeaux, RC Strasbourg, FC Rouen and AS Béziers.

He made 18 caps for the French team from 1973 to 1982, and played in the 1978 World Cup in Argentina with the Blues.

Subsequently, he decided to continue his career on the benches. Assistant coach to Jean Tigana at OL, he then became number 1 at MC Alger, CS Constantine and Olympique Khouribga.
