Ruben Amorim already has a precise idea for Adrien Rabiot. While the French midfielder will only find Milanello on Sunday, the AC Milan coach would consider using him higher up the pitch in his 3-4-2-1, like the role he occupied under Roberto De Zerbi at Olympique de Marseille. A solution which would notably make it possible to compensate for the absence of a new left-handed playmaker, while Milan has not yet found the profile sought by its coach. Through his volume of play, his technique and his tactical intelligence, Rabiot has the qualities to evolve in this role while bringing a certain balance to the team.
This experience in Marseille constitutes a strong argument for Amorim. Regularly installed in support of the attackers by De Zerbi, Rabiot had displayed particularly interesting offensive efficiency with 8 goals and 5 assists in 22 matches started as playmaker. The Portuguese technician could therefore try to reproduce this formula in Milan, with the objective of bringing the French international closer to the opposing surface. A development which would, however, require finding a new partner in Luka Modric in the midfield, with Jashari, Comotto, Ricci or even Musah as potential solutions.
