Former Nice coach Christophe Galtier has been acquitted of the accusations of moral harassment and racial discrimination against him.

The Nice court delivered its deliberations this Thursday, December 21, 2023. The former coach of OGC Nice Christophe Galtier was acquitted of charges of moral harassment and racial discrimination. “Neither of the two offenses is characterized,” ruled the Riviera criminal court.

During the hearing on December 15, the southern technician denied the facts with which he was accused. The former Lille resident had notably affirmed that he was not racist and that his remarks had been misinterpreted or distorted.

Galtier’s acquittal is an important victory for the 57-year-old coach, who had always proclaimed his innocence. It thus allows him to turn the page on this affair which has greatly tarnished his image.

As a reminder, the French coach had been accused of having made racist and homophobic remarks against certain players. The public prosecutor had requested a sentence of 12 months’ imprisonment, a fine of 45,000 euros and ineligibility for election for three years.
