Already winner of Real Madrid at Charléty last week, the women’s Paris FC won at the Stade Di Stéfano (0-1), Wednesday evening in the Champions League, on a Panenka from Gaëtane Thiney!
The incredible season of Paris FC women continues. Coming out of the preliminary rounds of the Champions League to compete in the group stage, the Parisiennes have just beaten Real Madrid twice! After the 2-1 victory at Charléty last Thursday, Gaëtane Thiney gave the victory (1-0) to the Ile-de-France team at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium (which the Blancas share with Castilla), Wednesday evening.
On cloud nine this season, at 38, Thiney had the luxury of scoring the winning goal for Panenka against Misa, the 2023 world champion goalkeeper (79th). The former French international has scored seven goals in D1 Arkéma and three goals on the European scene.
Sandrine Soubeyrand’s players are third in their group behind Chelsea and Hacken (the next opponent on January 24). The Madrilenians are eliminated!
