This is what the Catalan press has leaked in recent days. Absent since mid-November, Marc-André ter Stegen will undergo back surgery this week to put an end to his recurring pain. He will have to observe several weeks of rest and hopes to return for the round of 16 of the Champions League next February.

This is a big blow for FC Barcelona. The German goalkeeper is one of the great architects of the Liga title last season and started this exercise on the same basis. In addition, he is one of the leaders of Xavi’s locker room. It is Iñaki Peña, excellent against Atlético this weekend (1-0 success for Culés), who will take over as interim manager.
