Times are tough for Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper has had some dangerous recent outings – in every sense of the word – like the one against Le Havre which cost him a red card. The Italian is not in good shape and does not exude any serenity for his team, where Arnau Tenas seemed in total confidence when he came into play last weekend. But mistakes happen. Another Gianluigi, Buffon this time, knows what he is talking about. This is why he defended the current Parisian goalkeeper during the Golden Boy ceremony in Turin on Monday evening.
“Gianluigi Donnarumma now has good armor when it comes to criticism, questioning himself. I believe that when you are considered one of the three best goalkeepers in the world, it is normal today that every mistake gives you this kind of controversy. There is nothing new under the sun”, confides Buffon, the former glory of Juventus Turin, who himself experienced some difficulties at PSG. Let’s hope for the capital club that this is just a bad patch.
