Man Utd flop Donny van de Beek will leave the club in January.
Van de Beek’s future was revealed this weekend by numerous media and journalists, including Fabrizio Romano.
Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag also confirmed Van de Beek’s departure next month.
“I think Donny should play”, said Ten Hag. “ He was in the team during the matches, so he had the opportunity to play.
“The start of the season was slow because he was still recovering from physical problems. But he’s back and he’s training very well. If you can’t give him perspective, I can see he has to play for his career and everything else. »
Van de Beek was the subject of a transfer rumor during the last summer transfer window, but failed to make a move materialize, despite interest from Real Sociedad.
But the attacking midfielder will almost certainly leave in the January transfer window, as he no longer needs to be used.
Van de Beek was one of the most important signings of the summer of 2020, with Man United spending no less than €45 million to buy him from Ajax.
However, the midfielder has proven to be a resounding failure, scoring just two goals and providing two assists in all competitions over the last three years.
Last season he only started twice in the Premier League – making seven appearances in total – and only stayed on the pitch for 164 minutes. He did not contribute to any goals.
