A Nantes supporter died on Saturday evening in front of La Beaujoire. The circumstances of the tragedy are less vague this Sunday.

The very first forensic investigations show that the victim has a wound in the back, which could correspond to a bladed weapon. » These were the first words of the public prosecutor of Nantes, Renaud Gaudeul, Saturday evening, after the drama which took place on the outskirts of Beaujoire, around 8 p.m., on the sidelines of the championship match between Nantes and Nice.
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 4:30 a.m., a 35-year-old VTC driver went to the Nantes police station and was “ placed in police custody on charges including intentional homicide », the authorities specified today. The suspect was obviously from the convoy of vehicles ordered to drop off the several dozen OGC Nice supporters in front of the stadium. A convoy which according to several witnesses was attacked by supporters of the FCN.
A VTC driver testifies
“ We were in a convoy to drop off thirty Nice supporters at the stadium when a horde of supporters wearing black or yellow and green hoods appeared and attacked us.told Presse-Océan a VTC driver who experienced the scene from the inside and whose car was damaged. They started opening the doors and hitting my customers inside. I rolled down my window and told them to stop it. A guy kicked my grille. He turned around and hit my windshield. He fell to the ground. I moved forward. And all my other colleagues were attacked too. »
