The 15th day of La Liga between Girona and Valencia kept all its promises. On this Saturday afternoon at the Montilivi Municipal Stadium, Michel’s men had the opportunity to get back in front of Real Madrid in the standings, taking the lead in the championship. But that was without counting on the courage and efficiency of the visitors, who were quick to come and bother Oriol Romeu’s former partners. At least, for 82 minutes.

After a rather closed first half, Hugo Duro opened the scoring for Valencia (0-1, 56th) following a fatal defensive error for Girona, whose players were very high on the pitch. A mini hold-up for the Valencians who were then weaned from balloons. Then, as the match progressed, the domination of Dovbyk’s teammates paid off with the equalizer from Cristhian Stuani, opportunist to take a cross from Yan Couto (1-1, 82nd). In the process, Girona takes the lead on Cristhian Mosquera’s own goal (2-1, 86th). On arrival, Girona prevailed in difficulty and took the lead in La Liga while awaiting the Merengues match, against Granada at 6:30 p.m.
