Another bad one for Olympique Lyonnais, which had been sued by a former player, excluded from its training center.
Olympique Lyonnais is once again experiencing turbulent times. Less than two months after the dismissal of Laurent Blanc, Fabio Grosso, who replaced him on the bench, was in turn dismissed and the Lyon leaders are working to find a replacement for him.
According to The Team, the Rhone club also saw the courts condemn it for sexual discrimination following the exclusion of a young player from the training center, without reason or delay according to the main party concerned. For the complainant, this sidelining, which dates back to 2018, was unjustified sportingly and only motivated by extra-sporting matters.
The Lyon judicial court considered that” there occurs (…) to consider that the discrimination alleged by Madame (…) is established » and based on sex. While the complainant and her family demanded 2 million euros, OL was ordered to “3,000 euros in compensation for his moral damage” And “500 euros in compensation for his damage resulting from a loss of opportunity”.
“It’s an enormous satisfaction and a historic victory, which is intended to change things,” nevertheless rejoiced the plaintiff’s lawyer, Me Slim Ben Achour.
