Brazilian superstar Neymar is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury, but that didn’t stop him from watching the Al-Hilal match.
Neymar is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament injury that is expected to keep him out for ten months with Al-Hilal and Brazil. The Saudi Pro League club are forced to do without their star and won 9-0 without him last weekend, before facing Navbahor in the AFC Champions League. Neymar was unable to participate in the match, but he wanted to show his support for his new team.
The Brazilian shared a photo on Instagram showing him watching the Al-Hilali match from home.
Al-Hilal won the match 2–0 and advanced to the round of 16 of the competition. Salem Al-Dawsari missed two penalties for Neymar’s side, before Malcom came off the bench to score with his first ball. Al-Dawsari then sealed the victory with a lob over the opposing goalkeeper.
Neymar will continue his healing process but will miss the entire season with Al-Hilal. According to some assumptions, he could recover before the 2024 Copa América, which will take place in the United States between June 20 and July 14.
