While Euro 2024 begins in just over 6 months, French football continues to shine through its youth selections. This Tuesday, the French U17 team qualified for the World Cup final! The Bleuets won against Mali, after a very competitive meeting (2-1).
However, things were off to a bad start for the French since it was the Malians who opened the scoring just before half-time with a goal from Diarra (0-1, 45th+4). It was not until the second act that the French took control of operations.
Shortly before the hour mark, the Bleuets killed two birds with one stone by equalizing on a free kick thanks to a header from Bouneb, following an action where their opponent had been reduced to ten men after the expulsion of Sanogo for a dangerous foul on Sadi (1-1, 56th). The same Bouneb then added his double by delivering his own with a masterful free kick twenty minutes from the end (2-1, 69th).
Jean-Luc Vannuchi’s French U17 team will face Germany in the final.
