The enfant terrible of French football indulges in a new addiction, even though he has not officially retired.

His name has almost disappeared from the radar. But with each appearance, he never goes unnoticed. You have to go back to last spring to find any trace of Hatem Ben Arfa in French football news. The former French international broke his silence to comment on the withdrawal of Jean-Michel Aulas with a rather harsh message for his former president at Olympique Lyonnais.

At the age of 36, Hatem Ben Arfa has not officially hung up his boots. But he indulges in a new addiction: padel. Le Parisien looks this Tuesday at the new life of the talented left-hander. The French daily specifies that Ben Arfa is licensed at the 4Padel club in Seine-Saint-Denis. The player who played through Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Rennes or Lille would have developed a real passion for this sport.

“He doesn’t do that anymore”

Ben Arfa would also show great skills for padel since Le Parisien also indicates that the footballer would rank 1342nd out of the sample of 42,000 padel players referenced after having taken part in more than 70 tournaments in a single year. “He doesn’t do that anymore“, testifies a source. It remains to be seen whether the padel player is as aesthetic as the football player.
